It has been released for both PC and Macintosh.Ĭarmageddon II is generally regarded as the best game in the series due to its improved graphics, improved physics, and overall better gameplay. The game was developed by Stainless Games and published by Sales Curve Interactive. Doors would fall off, roof would get ripped off or if you flipped your car over, it would just get pancaked down, if you ran into a barrier with half of your car, the other half would just keep going. This article has been featured! It's feature #5.Ĭarmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now is the sequel to the computer game Carmageddon, released on November 30, 1998. The damage on the cars was unlike anything I've seen yet really, only Burnout comes close. If you caught up to them and got them mad they would try to go after you. The AI was varied as well, some AIs would go around trying to kill each other, do random stuff like mow down pedestrians, or just normally try to finish the race. Also the game had permanent progression, where you could find things like speed upgrades in hard to reach places.
One of such cars is a drag-racer that could go forward really really fast but couldn't turn all that well. The many cars you could choose from were quite varied and a lot of them were basically useless they were so hard to use.
The maps had quite a lot of things to do other than racing, be it getting rare weapons and power ups, or finding things that would change the track layout or do other crazy things. It's shown to be a racing game but I hardly ever finished a round by racing, usually it was to annihilate the other cars.
I played it a long time ago and it was a pretty unique game.
